ok I'm having a major problem with re-encoded divx files. Im taking a mpg, and trying to convert it using exact steps as posted on this board, and I only get a black screen and in the propertie sof the file it says the video is 0 kbps. Now i've done a ton of re-encoding mpeg2 and dvds and have delt with a lot of mpg encoding, but I've never run into something like this, especially not with divx. If anybody can help, that would be great thanks.

sounds like.... drum roll please.... you are only doing 1 of 2 encoding passes... you need to do the second pass... because there is no video information encoded in the first pass...

Ok ya, I was just trying single pass before I checked the thread again and was starting to wonder if i was really doing both passes. Thanks for the info.

Great, works now. But why at the beginning of a clip is there that stupid Divx watermark?

The watermark is only there when you play it on your computer (it's not actually there, it's rendered in by the decoder on the first few frames.)
