Used PocketDivxEncoder, but won't play properly on Axim..

So I downlaoded PocketDivxEncoder and I converted the file. Plays fine on my pc. Transfered the file over to the memory card and loaded up the file with PocketMVP. When I hit play all I hear is the sound and the picture is all scrambled and green. Can't make out a darn thing on the screen. What am I doing wrong?? Do I need to install plugins? Should I try other players if so which one?

Ok I used Betaplayer and works like a charm. Are there any plugins I should install that would be useful?

The ASF plug-in allows you to play Windows Media in Betaplayer that could be useful.

Are the plug-ins reliable? The "unstable" label leaves me questioning whether I should install them.

unstable just means they are still in the testing fase and MAY have bugs,I have never found any. I have been useing BetaPlayer from day one and never had a problem with it. Its the best out there.

I can concur that i have never had a problem with the unstable version. In fact i got to reinstall it again because they just came out with another newer version of betaplayer(.092)

Third vote for never having an issue with the unstable version.

HighTymes, thanks for the heads-up on the new version, off to get it now :approve:

I have several nagging problems with both the latest stable and unstable versions. They are:

These are all stable issues:

1. If I change the position of the movie to start in a different place, it will start playing with no sound. (This happens with the latest unstable as well). Sometimes exiting and restarting works; sometimes it does not. Occasionally I will get some sort of message about the lack of an index file so I cannot change to another point in the movie.

2. Most of the time when I am using it most of the hotkeys (volume up/down, go back 10 seconds, go forward 10 seconds) do not work.

3. Occasionally while watching the picture will start to pixielate and then suddenly jump ahead several seconds.

I tried switching to the latest unstable but watching a movie was like watching a series of jumps from one frame to another.

Thanks for the 'heads-up' I will wait for the next version then (as I am finding 0.91 absolutely great this isn't really a problem :approve: )

what type video of files do you play on what device? if you run a benchmark (1 minute is enough if the movie is longer) what is the result? these jumps occur when the device can't decode the video fast enough.

Honestly sounds more like you are having problems with the file/s you are trying to play rather than betaplayer.
