I am looking for an external TV tuner to be used with my Dell 600M laptop, for recording shows to be watched on my Axim, and was hoping someone could recommend a good one. I would like one that can save to Windows Media format directly if possible, and one that you can schedule to record programs. Thanks in advance for any help.

I use whoever's sittin' next to me on the couch. I tell'em they can have a beer if they'll go get me one........"Oh!....and while you're passin' by the TV, would'ya change the channel for me? And push that button right there what says START."

Correct, you could just record with Media encoder or your favorite software. If it were me...because I own so many tuner cards,my next one would have to be ATI chipset (they sell an external model) because you can only have one brooktree chipset tuner installed at a time,so then I could use 2 at the same time.
But Hauppauge WinTV has an external usb cheap model they sell too.
Heres their homepage: http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/prods_usbs.html
Well I can't speak for ATI's external Tuners because I've never had one, but I have 3 of their internal Tuners including TV WONDER PCI and 2 All-in-Wonder Cards and in my book can't be beat. Excellant picture quality. So for my 2 cents, I would highly recommend ATI.

Thanks, I will definitely keep that in consideration.
