playback of my movie
i used windows media encoder to make my movie smaller but it's resolution is less than 320x240. is there any way to playback the movie full screen in windows media player or do i need to start all over again encoding my movie to 320x240? if windows media player cant playback movies with a resolution less then 320x240 in full screen, is there any program that DOES playback the movie full screen?
thanks in advance
strider
ps. (i'm sorry for my bad english :rolling: )

yes, when it asks you how to format it select pocket pc. click it an it will teall you the resolution is like 172x136(something like that) click the drop down list and click widescreen. it will be formated for both sizes under the encoder. click the full screen and wa la!

You can download betaplayer(which you should have anyways because it is the best medi player out) and install the ASF codec. You can then open thew WMV file in betaplayer. Betaplayer will allow you to fit video to screen,zoom(50%,100%,150%,200%), fit to height or width. So you should be set. You picture won't look as good zooming but i am sure it will be acceptable.

HighTymes, I tried this, but after installing both BetaPlayer and the ASF codec, it still shows an error when I try to play WMV files, saying it is not recognized. Any advice?

If you haven't already, you may want to give my encoding guide a try. The general consensus is that it generates decent looking WMV files that weigh in at about 60-70MB for an hour of video.
That's full 320x240 resolution.

uhhh, i'm using your guide to encode my movie but the "time remaining" is getting more and more!!?? windows media encoder is bussy with the first pass and there are 7 hours remaining!!! i dont use a slow computer at all: 2 ghz with 256mb ram.
do u have any idea why this takes so long?
thanks in advance, strider

strange, sometimes the time remaining goes down to 4 hours or so and then starts rising again!?
edit: btw. it's busy with the first pass at the moment

I use pocketDivXencoder to encode ANY movie/video to be compatable with my axim, and then I use betaplayer to play the file. Those two programs work flawlessly together, everytime.

Unfortunately, not for me. I've only had PDE work once or twice on a 2 minute movie trailer... but that's been it. :(

I agree with sracer, pocketDivXencoder does not work with many PC's. If it does work it does a great job but thats just it, IF it works.
You might want to take a look at VirtualDub and encode your videos to DIVX and use BetaPlayer to play them. I have a basic step by step guide on how to do this here http://bigdsvideo.tripod.com/id7.html
