GREAT Headphones for ~$10

That's what I want. I've been borrowing headphones from various walkmans or portable CD players lying around the house.

I'm not a fan of the earbud or plug style.

I think something like this design:
Aiwa HP-JS30S Stereo Headphones

Does anyone know of a good deal on headphones for my Ax? Something in the $10 - $20 range.

TIA

you read my mind, i was just going to post a question for good, comfortable, affordable, portable headphones. i'm looking for some for mp3's and movies. i really liked my sony clie headphones but the cord is way too short ( has the inline remote to make it longer ) . the earbuds never seem to stay in my ear, or hurt really bad from shoving them in to far. please someone post the perfect headphones.

I'm a big fan of my Koss Headphones

I have purchased the Koss R/80

Koss Website - (Enter Site/Products/R80)

Yea, they're $50 but I think the sound and bass are worth it. This is my second pair of these. The first pair I sold to a roomate for more that what I paid for em. He just wouldn't take no for an answer. They are that good!

I have used Koss "Sports Clip" for several years now. I fish wire under shirt with RCA plug into cassette (books on tape) deck that is in my pocket. The speaker 'Clips' I fish out the top of my shirt. When not in use, hang clips on necklace tucked below neckline of shirt. Water resistant, LIFETIME warranty, under 10 bucks @ Kmart (if you can find one still open for business) or Target. stay attached to ear OR ears and even sound good. Better'n ear buds.

Happy listening,

Mike

The sound output of our Axims isn't very strong anyway, so no matter what headphones you use, it's not going to be strong and clear (there's the Axim hiss too). Especially with larger driver headphones (40mm+).

...Nothing, they seem to have all the features I like. I just wanted to know if anyone else here had tried them or had a better recommendation.

I recently bought these $20 Sony headphones at Best Buy. The sound is decent (to my ears, anyway), and I love that they fold up.

Good luck!

Pocket Music, since it has a preamp feature that works, plus I think is a better quality MP3 decoder than WMP in general almost ompletely obliterates that hiss, and I'm talking testing this on high quality powered speakers :)

The Koss KSC-50 fits in your budget and are very good for the price

As is always the case, I start looking for something moderately priced and given enough time, I raise my sights. I'm now looking at "The Best Portable Headphones".

The Koss PortaPro sells at Amazon for $34.95 and the SportaPro goes for $24.88.

If I add a Viking 256 MB CompactFlash Card ($49.99) to my order, I can apply Amazon.com Pomotional code "MAPAMEXCARDS" for $10.00 off $75.00 -- Expires 03/31/03.

...or better yet, if amazon would match/beat the price (I let them know about it) on that Simpletech 512MB CF card that RHYNO found for $79.95 after MIR, I might have to pull the trigger

I love headphones.

I own way too many of them and have another pair on the way (Sony Eggos). This does not make me an expert, justa guy with an opinion. So I recommend the Koss PortaPros (about $25). I know this exceeds your $20 cap but the extra $5 is more than offset by the difference in sound quality.

For a nice primer on "cheap" cans read this article over at The Headroom Corporation.
