Question Pocket movie sales

Has anyone purchased movies from this site?

www.pocketpcfilms.com

If so, could you please share some info about your experience? For example:

1) How many MB did an average-length movie fill?

2) What format was it in?

3) What player did you use?

4) How was the movie quality?

5) How easy was it to transfer a movie onto your Axim?

6) Would you recommend the site?

Thanks! :)

is it legal for them to sell those movies? seems like it would be a pita to make it legal to do that. i think the prices are a little high though, for a few dollars more you can buy a dvd and encode it yourself. i think $4-$5 would be a decent price to pay for them though.

PocketPCFilms.com

Well, I found the site from a link on Microsoft's Pocket PC site, so my guess is that it's legit. I can't imagine that MS would link to it otherwise, right? (And I saw some of the same films for PPC listed at J&R's site, so I'm assuming they're aboveboard.)

I agree that the prices are a bit high ... I don't know that I would spend that much for a film unless it were something I'd want to watch again and again. I've been reading some of the DVD-ripping/encoding guides, though, and the process seems terribly lengthy and complicated. Don't know that I have the time or the energy to tackle it.

Just exploring all my options...

Have any of you actually LOOKED on their site though? What on earth movies do they have that would be worth the $$ that they're asking? They have "Going Overboard", one of Adam Sandler's first (and WORST) movies, if you can even call it a movie. And they're asking $15 for it....I saw it for $2.99 at Wal-Mart one day.

I saw some decent selections there -- classic dramas, horror flicks, comedies. Click on "Classic Films" in the left-hand nav bar.

i went to fry's yesterday and actually saw most of the same movies there on the pda isle (made for pocketpc). they were the same price there. so i guess that website isnt making them, just reselling them. i would just prefer to buy a dvd from a much bigger selection, and encode them myself, rather than buying crappy movies from them.
