This looks pretty cool, lets you stream copy-protected and other media, including live TV broadcasts and iTunes, remotely over the net .... great if you've got mobile access for your Axim! http://www.forbes.com/associatedpres...ap1584291.html

Sweet! But I was looking for a completely free one like WinAmp for the PC. Does WinAmp offer a PPC version to let me stream TV, radio, etc.? Or is there another comparable one?
Thanks in advance.

What do I need to use Orb?
To use Orb, there are 3 basic requirements:
1-Windows XP Media Center Computer
2-Broadband Connection (cable, DSL)
3-Web-connected cell phone, PDA and/or laptop with data package (Click here to see Orb-compatible devices)
Kind of dodgy that they would charge a monthly fee for that service, considering they use YOUR resources to deliver this service(your internet connection, your media).. I understand a software license fee, but MONTHLY? That's akin to the crooks at RoadRunner who charge $5 a month extra for additional computers on your HOME network(internal IP addresses, NOT unique IPs for each computer), preying on the people who don't know how to configure their own networking.
But I guess that's a valid market in the computer industry-- marketing a "simple" way to do something to those who don't want to/don't know how to do it "the normal way".
I agree with both Howard2K and funkcicle. There are ways to stream your media for free over the internet, why bother with a service that charges to use your resources.
Plus, the requirement to have a Windows XP Media Center Computer...how many people are actually running Media Center compared to just XP Home or Pro? not a big market for them.
I say, good luck with that Orb...I'l continue to stream for free myself.
I installed this last night.. Pretty neat. It seemed to crash my computer when I played back divx files so I am not sure what is supported and what isn't. I need to look into it more.
