Quick question...so are you saying that even tho I may own the DVD, I cannot go thru the process to use Movie Maker and shrink it down to use on my Axim because of copyrights?

I hope that's Kazaalite your using and not just Kazaa.
Kazaa comes bundled with spyware that installs to your pc when you install kazaa. If you remove the spyware, kazaa quits working... bad, bad, bad.

(Kazaalite is the kazaa engine/interface, but without the spyware, or pop-ups) -kind of like a boolegger's version of kazaa if you will...

cheers,

Jlong4..I think you can but I don't believe you can use WMM to do it. As stated in several posts and somewhere in this thread that there are other freeware apps that can help you "rip" down your dvd and take out the "locks". I personally use either Smartripper or DVD Decrypter to rip the DVD's to my hd in .vob files, etc.

You can find out about how to do some of these encoding things on vcdhelp.com or doom9.net.

I know... I'm using KaZaa along with diet Kaza 2.0 to block all spyware and popups. Then to make sure I run spybot-search & destroy 1.2 to remove all spyware.

problem w/ MM

Whenever I try to open (import to collection) a regular .mpg, I get an error message that says, "D:\CSI 5-29-03.MPG could not be imported. Unspecified error" Any ideas why? It is a standard .mpg that I can play w/ Windows Media Player 9 w/o a hitch..........:rolling:

Maybe others are having better luck but I finally stopped using WMM2 once I finally got comfortable with the whole VirtualDub process. Comparing a .wmv and a DivX'd .avi of the same movie is a real eye-opener. DivX kicks the crap out of .wmv on the Pocket PC.

When I was using WMM2 for everything, I always chose to save in the "Video for Pocket PC (218 Kbps)" format. It's the best non-fullscreen you can get with WMM2. As far as I know, there's no way of setting WMM2 to rotate, so if you encode with "Video for Pocket PC (Full screen 218 Kbps)" once you get it into Media Player on your Pocket PC, it chews up quite a bit of CPU cycles doing the rotation itself, and the framerate drops significantly.

For quality fullscreen videos, I'm going to have to recommend going the DivX route.
