Viewing .RM Files on an X5

I want to view RM files on my X5 and have read several threads on this forum that go to great length to cover ways of converting these files to either .avi or mpeg using various utiities.

I've tried a couple of these programs and, whilst they do work, they seem to dramatically increase the size of the video file. I have, for example, a 10MB file that, after conversion, grows to anything from 60Mb to 75MB. This growth is obviously undesirable when working with a piece of kit that has memory limitations (I could only get one file of this size onto my 128MB SD card).

My questions, therefore, are:

1. are there any utilities around that convert the files without any significant increase in file size?

2. I am quite happy to use RealOne, but their Tech Support people say that the X5 is not supported. Does anyone know if any of the various Pocket PC versions of the RealOne player will work on an X5?

Thanks

There is a mobile RealOne player here RealOne Mobile , that says it is for pocket pc. I don't have it and have never tried it so I don't know if it works good with the axim. I say this because the axim isn't in their device list, but it should still work because it says for pocketpc. Here is a link to a support article that may help if you have installation troubles. Hope it works if you try it!RealOne Mobile PPC Help

Nice! The RealOne player works fine on my Axim X5 (400). It isn't officially supported but I chose the IPaq download and it works fine. Now I can watch my episodes of Family Guy on my Axim :)

Has anybody had success playing 300 Kbps .rm files on their Axim with Realone player? I've been trying to watch some anime and the audio is fine, but the picture will only start up after a minute or so and is really laggy. I know people have had success with Simpsons episodes, but I'm wondering what bitrate they're playing at. It might be because I have a 300MHz Axim playing off an old 4x Lexar CF card though...
