I am currently using Real Audio Player (free version) and it allows up to 96 kbps, so that is what I have been using, it is OK, but I will probably set up something on my home computer that uses a little higher bit rate; probably only 126 or so.

i use 48kbit wma on my pocket pc as i find it the best for size/quality ratio

Never lower than 192kbps. As an aside, I downloaded the new U2 album (sadly Itunes is 128kbs aac) from Itunes and had a chance to compare to the CD today, huge difference. If it's music that you plan to listen to over time, do not download from itunes or rhapsody, buy the CD and rip it for portable listening.

i rip all my music at 192kbps mp3 with WMP10 works great and is REALLY fast compared to other rippers i have used :approve:

i have experimented, and 192 is the best for me :)

Yes it is apparently true, there is details in the WMP10M FAQ...
