Extremely Large files with PocketDIVXEncoder

I have used DVDShrink & PocketDIVXEncoder successfully to move several DVDs to my PocketPC. However, I am having an odd issue with one particular movie. When I use DVDShink, I remove any compression & the resulting .vob is around 7.5GB. Using the following settings (Video Quality-12,Audio 64KB & Stereo), PocketDIVXEncoder is creating files 1GB in size, even though the software indicates it should be around 300MB. Anyone else having any similar issues?

Have you tried ripping the DVD a second time just to make sure you got a valid file? I had something similar happen once when using windows media encoder. The second time it worked just fine.

I have tried ripping the DVD several times now. I even tried ripping with compression to create a smaller file. Even though the .VOB now was around 4GB, DIVXEncoder still created a file that was 850 MB??

If you e-mail Olivier Gallot, the author of PocketDivXEncoder (see help) he will advise you on this. He gives first class user support. He is French but writes excellent English. :approve:

I use SmartRipper (feeware) to produce the VOB file and the *.IFO file. It might Be worth trying this.
