Last Friday I recieved my New Axim X50. I love it. The only thing that I notice like what has been mention on this forum about WMPlayer 10 coming up with Err while trying to play movies.

I have betaplayer installed. Of course by itself it won't play movies that is in WMP format.

I was wondering what driver and where they are at that would make betaplayer play movies that are in WMP version 9 format.

what error message do you get with wmp10?

currently betaplayer's asf plugin doesn't work with wmp10 codecs and even if i somehow fix it the playback still won't be fully hardware accelerated as with the original wmplayer on x50v.

I don't have the X50v. The one that I have is the X50 520 mhz. What is going on in WMP 10 is that it will play about a minute and then a window will pop up and say that the file is corrupt. My movies where recording in WMP 9 format. So I though that should work with some plugin with Betaplayer. On my X5 the movies play with no problem. So I am not sure why I am having problems playing them with this newer version.

Any ideas?

sorry no idea. i will try to fix the asf plugin for betaplayer. maybe it will be able to play it.

Well I found my problem. It wasn't WMP 10. It turn out that it was a problem stream threw my network. I started having the same problem play MP3.

So I transfer a movie over to my memory card and it play great.

Sorry for wasting your time. But I ams still looking forward to be able to watch these movies threw Betaplayer. Please let me know when you have the ASF plugin working.

love betaplayer and am using the 2700g file on my x50v with great success, am I right in thinking betaplayer doesn't support .wmv?

I have the plugins installed but not being a video whiz I can't seem to work out which extensions should and shouldn't work?

gave up on x51v due to lack of bluetooth
ext bat and 4xAA batt extender...I have accessories coming out of my ears including about 18Gb of CF and SD cards (photographer)

for wmv you would need the asf plugin, but it won't work on devices with wmp10 (like x50v).

mpc is the muspack audio codec.

I am a newbie and so please have some patience with my questions... I see the various ways of encoding the dvd movie to a different format and puting it on an sd card... But don't I need software on the axim to watch the movie on the sd card? If so what software do I need? Any good ones for a reasonable price? Thanks in Advance!
