Streaming content onto Pocket PC

Is there any programs out there that will stream the content from my PC to my Pocket PC? I have Windows Mobile 2003, but not the SE version

Take a look at the Wi-Fi guide on the front page or under resources at the top of the forums. I'm pretty sure what you're looking for is there. I'm not a Wi-Fi kinda guy.

Theres a thread that talks about VLC (formally VideoLAN Client) for the PPC and desktop that allows you to stream DVDs directly to the PPC. Should also work for any other file.

what are you looking to stream? I am able to stream music from my laptop to my Axim via BT. At home I've been able to stream music and movies from my laptop to my Axim via WiFi over a LAN.

How do you stream music from your laptop via BT? I can't seem to get it to work. What BT profile and settings are you using?

I connect through the Quick Connect option in the BT manager program on my laptop. Using the Quick Connect > Network option, I then use Resco File Explorer to map a drive to my music folder on my laptop and viola..streaming music and movies (though the streaming movie thing over BT sucks...too slow).

I didn't see anything in the WiFi guide...i know in the newer Ipaqs they include software that can stream video, pictures, music, etc, but wasn't sure if someone else makes a program that does the same thing....I mostly would like to stream stuff when I am away from my computer....

I am not sure what kind of content you want to stream, but here are is one idea:

For Music:

- Download GSPlayer (available free). Go to ShoutCast.com and find a station you like. Click "Tune-in". It will ask you to download a file ending with ".pls". Go ahead and do it. You can even rename it later to remember what station it was, just don't change the extension. Then go into GSPlayer and select that file. As long as your connected via internet, you should be able to stream the music.

- You may be able to do similar things with the old version of Windows Media Player.

Not quite sure what your best options are for video...

Good Luck.
