I am running Betaplayer off of my SD card. Not sure if that makes a difference ...
wow! i don't understand this. could you benchmark playing from built-in storage? or CF card if you have one? this 178% seems very high. i even checked the checksum to be sure :) i guess SD card speed could be better because pxa270 has sd controller inside, unfortunatelly i only have a crappy SD card which is only as fast as my CF card.

yes! you have to install 0.093g player. it should have given you a warning if you use the plugin with older version (or use and old plugin with 0.093g).

eidt: ok i now understand why there was no error message. i will fix it, so next time you will know what is wrong.

Will the plugin accelerate Divx encoded files? Or does Divx=MPEG4?

Thanks

yes, divx and xvid are both using the mpeg4 video standard.

I am using a SanDisk UltraII 512MB SD card. Unfortunately I do not have a CF card.

I got 180% too with built-in storage, so I guess the SD speed was not benchmarking bug. This is interesting, I should really get a SD card like that :)

update: Ahhhh!!!!!!!!! I didn't actually used my "simple" SD card with betaplayer yet in x50v. I benchmarked it only for bandwidth speed, which was the same as my CF card. But now I benchmarked RL_XQ and I got 178% too! This means the SD controller's driver or hardware architecture is way better as the CF controller and file reading can go better async in the background during video decoding as CF.

Same results here Picard, his 178 result's seem valid.

X50v with cpu at auto, Dane-Elec 1GB SD card, RL_XQ video.

Note the video is playing like it's on speed ... kinde fun to watch.

Hey picard, may i again thank you for your great support and development :)

just wondering - i have a very interesting result from a divx video clip

It's a mini 3:22 minute music video, encoded around 3.2Mbits/s.

I benchmarked it on my x50v on a 741Mhz, with your latest player and from my sd card.

bench mark result is qutie amazing, with the following stats:

BetaPlayer Version UNSTABLE.0.093g Benchmark Results

Average Speed 139.21%
Video Frames 6055
Amount of Data 78731 KB

Bench. Time 2:25.128
Bench. Frame Rate 41.72
Bench. Data Rate 4.4 Mbit/s

Original Time 3:22.035
Original Frame Rate 29.97
Original Data Rate 3.2 Mbit/s

Platform PocketPC
OS Version 4.21
OEM Info Dell Axim X50
Clock speed 730 Mhz
Video output Intel 2700G 480x640 Slow

checksum of this file: 1a1a64c21ccd3b4f

i forgot to mention that the audio stream didn't work - it's ac3filter. I'll try and reencode the audio to mp3 and see the result.

probably overclocking the cpu doesn't have that much effect, because most of the work is done by the 2700G (especially if there is no audio decoding)

Thanks picard for the great work!!! Looks great except for the problem Ranma13 pointed out above. I also get vertical lines across the screen but only once in a while. It happens at the same point though in the video each time. Any suggestions?

You got a x50v?

it's the lcd tearing (the new frame is starting to show when the lcd scanline is in the middle of the screen, which shows as if two different frames were at the screen at once). i will work on the problem. worst case scenario to add an option to prevent it at the expense of speed (most files are played way over 100%)

Do we dare to think that the x50V can handle the hi-performance bench at 4Mbps?
