Has the speed issue mentioned in the original post been fixed? I need to know whether to buy an SD or a CF card, I want the CF due to better storage capacity for the price.

Solved to my satisfaction anyway. I''ve used low and high capacity CF cards, Microdrives, and SD cards and had great experiences with BetaPlayer AKA TCPMP. I did have to tweak the cache a bit with PCMCIA cards though. But who still uses them?
