Although high numbers are great and I love them, but shouldn't those from SD or CF be used? What is the point of bench marking movies in Ram if there is only 30-40 available after most people do installs of their programs?
It's just for fun we did the test's ... In reallity, it does produce some intresting fact's. For instance, there is only about 10% speed increase when going from SD to memory. So the ram itself is running rather slow. This also illustrate's why MS is trying to move storage away from the ram, and onto flash memory. There is not a lot of speed difference between ram & flash ( atleased not in this example ).

This is not entirely true. RAM speed is still much faster as SD if don't do any other tasks. But during video playback the slower SD is not a problem because the video decoding needs time and the SD controller has a good driver in X50v which can read the data in the background.
Benchmark the RL_XQ with audio and video 'disabled' option. This will basically read the file without processing it.
This is an assumption, but I would guess that with the waves created by PocketTV Team on this site and others regarding BetaPlayer, that Picard is going through the code and making sure all his i's are dotted and t's are crossed, and then will release that version as .095 unstable.
For being unstable versions, I've found them to be unbelievably STABLE!

This would be my guess too. If all he is doing however is adding comments ... I am not sure if it would classify as a new revision however?
In the end, all that counts is that indeed his i's are dotted and his t's crossed such that we can continue to have an awesome player.
Totally off topic ... but once he gets a "stable" version ... would Picard then have to change the name to "StablePlayer" :approve:
X50v running at 624MHz with BetaPlayer installed in RAM and the movie installed in RAM.
BetaPlayer Version UNSTABLE.0.094 Benchmark Results
Average Speed 192.71%

Cool ... beat the overclocked benchmark.
Question:
Correct me if I am wrong ... but would storing things in RAM use up more power? I would think yes considering RAM needs to be refreshed. Therefore, if you have things stored in RAM, and you had your AXIM turned off for a long time ... would the AXIM be dead? Or, do the RAM contents gets pushed to the internal built in storage on power off?

Doesent mather. Your ram wil automaticaly refresh becouse it's storing stuff from the OS. And there is no way they system can say: xxx is used, power, xxy isent used, no power needed etc etc. So the ram stays under the same amount of power even if it's for the most part empty ( sinds its still holding the OS data, thus it's never 100% empty ).
Leave your x50v out of the cradle, and you will notice a few % less on your battery over a night. Leave it there for a few weeks until the battery is completly empty ( and the 30min backup battery ), and say bye bye to everything in your memory. It's like a hard reset, exept your flash/rom will still contain it's data. The OS will then be put back onto the memory by the system.

hehe ... i bet i can get up to 195% if i place betaplayer also in memory, and oc, but that's just no more fun ;)
Didn't you accidentally copied the endpart from an older benchmark? On my device the clock meter works fine with 0.095 and if you disabled audio you shouldn't have the Audio output line.
Hello, I have a Dell X50 520 mhz and I use to watch some divx (located on my pc) in the original format over wifi with Betaplayer.
The films look very well, but they stop for 2 o 3 seconds every some minutes.
Can you tell me the right Betaplayer settings for my X50 (not V)??

Thank you!!
Try disabling the "Power save mode" located in Dell WLAN utility to increase the WiFi speed. On an X50v, I can stream anything with a bitrate less than 1.5Mbps (192KB/s) without interruption via wifi in Betaplayer.

I've done it, but my limit is 1.3 Mbit!
I have the italian version with A00 ROM. Is this the problem?
