Hmm Full screen video

This maybe a dumb a question but just can't figure out how to play WMV file full screen on my X50v. On my X5, it plays full screen but when I stick the SD card with the same video file on the X50, I get a tiny box. What gives? I obviously need to do something else to get it full screen but what?.

Click on Menu > Options > Audio/Video and pick the settings that are best for you.

with media player open click on the little box in the upper right (just under the X) with a small arrow pointing up and to the right. this will put the WMV in full screen mode.

That's what I normally do to get the video full screen on the X5, but it still doesn't work on X50. It just switches the view mode to horizontal..meaning that you turn your PPC horizontally to view the video but it still plays in a small rectangular box..not full screen.

Welp I'm out of ideas. Unless... Are you using one of those "True" VGA programs. I hear they make everything smaller.

Perhaps on the X50v it will only show in full screen if the video is large enough. Just a guess since i don't own one.

Anyone out there have one that can help?

Yes I did and have since uninstalled it. So with or without true VGA, I wasn't able to play the video full screen.

I think you are on the right track - Let me know what happens when you rip a different size video - Also this may be helpful:

[1a] Movie Size allows you to better fit a widescreen feature film on the tv-sized screen of the Pocket PC. Pocket PC screens and a movie
theater screen aren't the same shape. Movie screens are much wider. Today, films generally come in one of two basic widescreen sizes
(called aspect ratios): 'Academy Standard' (aspect ratio 1.85:1), and 'Anamorphic Scope' (aspect ratio 2.35:1). Films in 'Acadamy' are
widescreen (like English Patient, Toy Story or Silence of the Lambs), but do not appear quite as wide as Scope films (like Star Wars, Lawrence
of Arabia, or Apollo 13). Pocket PC screens and TVs have a (1.33:1) aspect ratio.
With this menu item, you set the original aspect ratio of your DVD so that the software will encode it correctly.
Normal Movie. This is the default. Use it for Academy Standard movies. It encodes to a 1.85:1 aspect ratio.
Widescreen Movie. Use this for Cinema Scope DVDs with an aspect ratio of 2.35:1
Other Movie. Use this if you are not sure what the original aspect ratio is. It will encode to an average of 2:1
TV Show. Use this if your DVD contains TV-material, such as tv-series
[1b] You can also use the Movie Size menu item to create a Zoom effect.
This will enlarge the picture and you get rid of the black stripes on the top and bottom.
- For a small zoom effect, choose 'Other'
- For a strong zoom effect choose 'TV Show'
NOTE: ZOOMING IS NOT SUPPORTED ON ALL DVDs, SUCH AS DVDs CONTAINING TV-SERIES.
