Transferring MP3s

I'm having trouble moving mp3s from desktop to PPC. I just copied my "my music" folder into the PPC documents on my desktop. Is there a more efficient way. I'd like them to go directly to my SD card. Is it possible to do that?

Also - someone else suggested using Win Media player as an encoder. With a current update mine will only encode WMA files, not MP3. Files are similar in size - is there an up side to using oner or the other?

Thanks

The BEST way is to use a card reader and dump them on there.

You could also map a drive via wifi and copy them from the PC to PPC that way.

You could also use the Mobile Device icon in My Computer and drop them that way.

Plenty of better ways

I managed to put my music directly onto my SD by opening Active sync and going to Explore/My Pocket PC/Storage Card and pasting my MP3 files there.

This sounds like a good plan. I'll give it a try.

What about MP3 vs WMA? Any opinions?

Thanks again

Most people seem to agree that WMA is better than MP3. But with a decent MP3 converter that supports VBR it's a lot closer.

MP3 is also usable on many more devices than WMA.

@DavidLennartz-OTR (Old Time Radio) shows? that's a hobby of mine. A card reader is much faster than Activesync for transferring large files like half hour radio shows. They're inexpensive too!

Thanks Bobby,

I am going to be getting The Shadow radio episodes and try those first!

I have been a listener to OTR shows for years (Jack Benny, Shadow, etc etc) In my area the radio show that played these was cancelled (and replaced by yet more trauma and drama "news") so I have been looking for another way to listen when and where I choose...

Sorry for getting so off-topic tsl90.

I'l pm you some links to some OTR sites David. There's not as much on the web as there used to be but there's still plenty of shows out there. A google search for "Fibber McGee and Molly +download should keep you occupied for now.
