Error with Fairuse! HELP!

After reading various threads, I heard that the new freeware Fairuse software for converting dvds to the axim was an awsome software. So i downloaded it off one of these threads and cannot seem to make it work.

I placed the DVD (The Nightmare Before Christmas - 76 minutes) into my computer. The only things I canged in Fairuse was teh size (250 MB) and audio to 90kps. Then I set the "auto" function for the program.

THe program ran through the movie for about 1 hour, then came up with the error message: The DVD could not be converted. >>>Could not load codec settings.

Can anyone help me with my problem? Is this because the dvd is "protected" or do I need to download a codec from somewhere. PLEASE HELP!

Do you have DivX and Xvid codecs loaded on your computer?

If not, do a google search for these codecs, install, reinstall FairUse (just to be sure) and try again.

Am I going to have to install these codecs on my axim to view the movie? Or is beta player or windows media player going to automatically recognize it?

BetaPlayer recognizes these files, and is empowered to play them, all by itself.

Your desktop will need the Xvid codec to be able to properly play these files.

if it already converted the movie for an hour then i think it might have the codecs. I was just using it for converting. I have it seperated into chapters. Chapters are 30MB each. But for some reason, i got a dvd could not convert error for on the 6th out of 7 chapters.

So far ch 1-5 converted sucessfully, but chapter 6 only 4 minutes was converted before it crapped out. I am reconverting now. What irks me is that i cant choose which chapter to start out from so i have to restart from ch 1. :(
