Looking for an app that would let me rip a CD straight to MP3's without spyware, addware, or the need to purchase anything

I happen to not like WMA's because they have a tendency to have this metalic ring to them, no matter HOW well they are encoded (at least to my ear) and it isn't caused by the equip because other formats do not have said ring with my speakers/headphones

I think MusicMatch Jukebox is worth the price. I've been using the pay version for 4 years and never had to pay for an upgrade. The free version works well too.

I have used one called Xtractor. I have ripped 1.5 gigs of cd's into my mp3 player with no problem.
