Convert .mov file?
I have a digital camera that does 1 minute videos as well as still shots. The videos are on Quicktime .mov files but my Axim 30 Windows media player will not play these files. How do I convert them to a file that the player will play read them?

I know how hard it can be to find what you need in the forums and I HATE the "RTFM" posters, so I'll do my best to reply. I've found this forum that tackles the question fairly well:
http://www.corecodec.com/modules.php...iewtopic&t=668 I had heard that BetaPlayer was supposed to be working on QT support, but I don't think it's there yet.

I have a Pentax WR43 digital camera and it too saves in .mov format.
Using BetaPlayer version 0.095, I'm able to play my .mov files on my X30!! You can find it here: http://betaplayer.corecodec.org/download.html If you rather convert the .mov to something anyway, a couple of ways to do it: 1. Use Quicktime Pro. When you open the .mov in QTPro you have the option to export the movie as another movie format (like avi or mpeg) 2. Use TMPGEnc, a freeware video encoder. http://www.tmpgenc.net/e_main.html Good luck!

Converting MOVs
I have had a similar problem. I first tried a free program I found somewhere that does this (from Intel?), but it added a rather large logo. I now use QuickTime Pro and it works great. In QuickTime, you can Export... and select QuickTime to AVI. If you're using the Media Player that came with the Axim, it only plays WMV's. To get there, you'll have to use Windows Movie Maker (2 preferred - it has an option to resize and reframe and encode for PocketPCs. I've done a whole movie like this - ended up about 140MBs).
Hope this helps! | |||
