I might have missed the file(s) on how to get Media Player to play MP3's files without buffering, across a wireless network connection. Can someone point me in the right direction, please?

I just ordered my AXIM from Dell. Should be here shortly. I also have a wireless network at home and have a server full of MPs, video clips, etc. I went to CompUSA yesterday and bought a AmbiCom Wireless CF card for my "soon-to-be-here" AXIM. I was hoping that I could just use PocketPC Windows Media Player to listen/watch my media over my home network without having to load the files onto my AXIM.
Are you saying that I need to install this PocketMVP program in order to do that? It's FREE, right?
Yes PocketMVP is free and it does work.
Windows Media Player has to buffer so much, that is will stop playing a file, then re-start.
So far, all I have had time to try are MP3's.

In order for the PocketMVP to "stream video/audio files from your laptop/desktop, you must be able to see these networked drives from the wireless network and be able to access those files. I use Resco file explorer 2003 http://www.resco-net.com/homepage.asp
to do this. The are other programs but this one works great for me. Also, in order for the Resco file explorer to wirelessly access my files, I had to change my Pocket PC's name from the default name of POCKET_PC because of the illegal underscored space in that name. Once I had renamed my Axim, from the Axim's START/SETTINGS/DEVICE ID; did a soft reset. I was able to map my laptop's drive and then work with those files. Sure saves on the precious Axim space.

This is a good link in the Aximsite forum to read. I hope the link works for you . You can try searching the boards by using "streaming" as a search word.
To help further, I need to know where you are geting 'stuck' in the process.

i can search for computers (resco file explorer 2003) but it can't find anything no pc's etc i have a laptop win xp home installed on it and a laptop with wifi on the router plz help me
On both of your systems;
Can you wirelessly connect to the web from both the laptop AND the Axim? or are you accessing the web on the Axim by USB connection THROUGH the laptop?
It is important to be able to see the web from BOTH machines or be able to at least ActiveSync the Axim by the USB cable.
second message to follow (lenghth issue)

On the Axim.
START/SETTINGS/SYSTEMS/ABOUT/DEVICE ID:
make sure the device ID does not have an underscore _ in the name.
Launch Resco Explorer; click and hold on My Network; Map Drive;
On the screen that pops up, click on {use autodetect}
Click -ok-
If it says it 'sees' no network, and you can ActivSync the Axim, and access the web wirelessly, check and see if you have WEP enabled on the wireless router.

If you have WEP enabled and a fire wall enabled on you laptop, try turning them off, especially the WEP, until you are able to solve this issue.
Do a soft re-set on the Axim after making changes.
