Question Beta player

Hello, i installed version 0.095 on my AXIM and the intex 2700g plugin as well as the asf plugin. When i go to play a windows media format file, it says " Player: Videocodec (wmv3) not found!, try checking the homepage for additional codec plugins"

I put all of the plugins on but it still wont play, but it does play sound from my video.

Thanks
-Brad

The .asf plugin doesn't work with WMP10 that's on your device. Moved to multimedia

Hi. I've been trying to either convert some .avi files to wmv or play .avi files. The first option has been met with some success but the picture still is not great. I have been trying to get beta player for the second option.

However, I have been unable to locate it. The homepage I have been trying to access is betaplayer.corecodec.org. It always times out. Is there another place where I can get it.

TIA!

Which ARM version of the stable Betaplayer .04 should I download? I have 4 options:

betaplayer.ARM_CE2
betaplayer.ARM_CE3
betaplayer.ARM_SP
betaplayer.ARM720_CE3

If you're not sure then get betaplayer.setup.0.04.exe from here.

I would strongly suggest to use the unstable version especially on X50.

ps: there is a readme.txt in the cab archive files. you need the ARM_CE3

Thanks Picard! By the way, do I need to download codecs in order for some files to work? MPEG does not seem to work or not being recognized by Betaplayer.

You will need only the intel2700g plugin if you have X50v.

What type of mpeg? What is the error message? MPEG2 is not supported (I'am currently adding an error message to inform the user...)

Oh, yes. The stable doesn't support mpeg1, just the unstable :)

Oh ok, thanks for the heads up. I was planning on doing a hard reset. By the way, does the stable version affect the video testing on the "Axim Self Diagnostic" test? I'll do a test again later with the unstable version installed just to make sure.

sorry - not sure exactly what this means for me. wmv's played on the X30 (which had wmp9, i realize) under betaplayer, and now they don't on the x50v (which has wmp10, as noted). is there something i can do to fix this, or do i have to wait for picard (who seems like a terrific person) or MS (who seems... oh well, fill in your own thoughts)?

thanks!
