Post a newbie Fairuse guide ?

Could someone post a newby fairuse guide ? to include what programs are needed and steps to use them in order to play movies on your axim x50v.
If you search this site, you get bits and pieces and if you go to other forums you will spend hours looking... I think it would help the entire community for someone to post an easy to use guide that could be understood in about 20mins of studying instead of investing hours of study into digital video terms and processes. . I am only requesting this from the economic standpoint of a newby.
Thanks,

Tim

There's a movie ripping guide on Aximsite's main page.

So what's this fairuse all about? I haven't heard about it. Is it a program or a concept?

Bobby and Frenchy - Here is the latest/longest running thread on Fair Use including the URL for that app. It's a one stop app for ripping/shrinking dvd to ppc

Yes. It's a concept that lead to a software of the same name. :)

Thanks DStutz :)

I used Fairuse today and i ended up with a few .fud files and some .fup and a .avi file. i know the .avi is the one we are supposed to copy to our x50v. My problem is the .avi file is only
12kb in size. I think something was wrong. any suggestions ?

You're welcome!
I have no advice on the 12kb file(except to try it again :) ). I'm a COMPLETE newb to all this video ripping/shrinking myself - I never had a need convert movies before I got the Axim. I am currently ripping a bunch of my DVD's for an upcoming business trip to Japan (there's not a lot of English TV to watch, and a guy can only take so much karaoke and sake). I'm currently using FairUse for this because it's so easy. There's another thread here describing how to use DVD Shrink and PocketDivXEncoder, which seemed to yield a better quality movie at a smaller size - but I'm a BIG FAN of easy ;)
As I made my initial foray into the world of video, I found this site - http://www.videohelp.com. The amount of reference information, articles and tutorials contained there is nothing short of staggering - anything and everything video related. I highly recommend :approve:

Karaoke and sake good. I am glad this subject came up. I was thinking about trying to learn how to do this, as well. Way to go.

Hmm, Pocket PC Karaoke I could see but how could you get one to dispense sake?

I think my old black box is easier than this. I'l post a link. Tigerdirect sells them.

I'm on step 4 of ripping "King of New York" while I'm posting. 9 minutes remaining. I like that guide link DStutz, Thanks.
