DVD convertor

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know of a good DVD convertor for the X50v.

Basically i want to copy DVD films and convert them to a good standard to play on the X50v. If someone could advise me i would be most grateful, i don't know too much about what file formats i should be using so please bare with me.

Is something like Pocket DVD Studio the sort of program i should be using?

Thanks

Simon

The best way to do it is via FREE software.

See this thread for instructions and what software to use.

I find Fairuse wizzard a better method. I get audi sync problems with the other methods. Fair use will do all the work for you, and its free.

Not on your PPC if you're using betaplayer but get the .xvid codec for WMP on your PC if you want to watch them there also. www.wmplugins.com is a good place to look.

DStutz posted a link to an easy to follow users guide

Here's the original thread.

Once you get your first one done the rest can be done automatically. All you have to do is check full automatic in the first screen, provide a project name, then just walk away. It doesn't get much easier than that.

Hi guys thanks..
I've managed to copy the DVD now to my hard disk, the file size is about 550MB but when i drag the movie file out to my SD card it sits there for ages not really doing anything. I have a 1GB SD card, is there anything else i need to do or install.

Thanks again

I find it too slow to drag and drop stuff to my CF card through active sync. Maybe the same with SD card, if your using active sync that is.

Use a card reader to transfer large files, it's much quicker

This is the card reader I use at work. http://www.sandisk.com/retail_sixinone.html

But you can get one just for SD much cheaper.
