When I use fairuse I let the program decide what settings to use. The only setting I change are the output file size, the project name, and where the trim bars go for widescreen movies. In general I leave the file size at 700MB. I know that's large but I have lots and lots of memory space available because I use 5GB PCMCIA hard drives along with a CF to PCMCIA adapter on my X50v. For long trips I also use a 4 AA battery power extender as these hard drives have moving parts and hence use more power than flash memory. I also use the extended battery all the time so the power extender rarely gets used.

thankyou.....i have the x50v also, when you say trim bars what should i set the trim bars to watch a film full screen landscape?

regards

That's one function in fairuse that doesn't work with X50v's. It works when I view the files on my laptops WMP9 but not on the X50v with betaplayer. Hmm maybe I should send picard_beta a short sample and ask if he can do anything for it but if I had to guess I'd say it's something to do with the X50v or fairuse.

If you set the zoom on betaplayer to fit to height you fill the screen but you lose a little on the left and right.

Here's an interesting tidbit. If you convert a non-widescreen movie with fairuse the fullscreen option in betaplayer works perfectly. I think it has something to do with Pocket PCs having a native 4:3 pixel aspect ratio.
