Streaming network mp3's

I've searched for my specific problem but had no success in finding an answer. Maybe it's unique to my setup but I'd appreciate any help.

I can navigate to the mp3 directory on my laptop using my X5, but when I click on the title I get the message "Cannot find 'track title' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and all the required libraries are available." When I do the same thing with my X30 Windows Media Player plays the track with no trouble. Since I'm using the X5 just as a music player this is really frustrating. Otherwise I'll have to load whatever I want onto a memory card.

Thanks.

After working on this I am now able to open/play mpg's on the X5 that reside on the laptop hard drive. I must be making a connection but just get that frustrating message about the libraries, etc.

Also, this is a cheesy way to get a bump. Thanks for any help.
