Exclamation Problem Transferring file

I am trying to transfer a pretty large .wmv file to my PPC through ActiveSync. It will get about half way through, stop, and then start completely over again. Any idea why it is doing this?

It might have something to do with free space available in Program Memory, needed as overhead to handle the file transfer.
Can you set the axim to the memory allocation page, and see what happens when you transfer the file?

For what it's worth...

I've never tried a large file (> 10megs) xfer directly to the Axim. Instead I find the USB CF card reader to be far superior in speed. 20 bucks at Best Buy. PNY brand.

Card Reader

I have never sucessfully transfered a music file to my axim using the cradle. It just won't work for me. So I bought a card reader for my CF card and transfered them that way. It is quicker and it actually works. But I don't know what is wrong with the Cradle/Axim/My Laptop/Software that creates the problem to start with.

I agree with others, get a card reader... Its the only way. Activesyc connections are too slow to copy files over.

I am using CF memory, and it eventually transferred. When I saw the bar restart, I would cancel the transfer and try again. Finally, I just left the room so that I would quit watching it, and when I came back in it was finished transferring. So although the bar was starting over, the actual transfer wasn't.

Next time open the memory storage and select the CF or SD card. Then when you transfer the files you will see the transfer on the PPC. Mine did the same thing on the PC but the PPC showed it was transferring fine.

I use a reader also since I'm transferring 150-190Meg avi movies now.

Mac...
