question about media player 10

Whenever I start it, it goes the to skin page and sits for about 2-3 minutes searching for skins. I downloaded one off the Microsoft site for a PPC and copied it onto my PPC under \Program Files\Windows Media Player, but it doesn't seem to find it. I'm new to a PPC so I don't know much... Do I need to do something else or am I doing something wrong?? Thanks!!

Edit: I guess it's Media Player 10 on my PC and then Windows Media "whatever" on my PCC... this is the one that is not working... just for clarification...

It sounds like you restored a backup file from an old ROM onto a new ROM update. This always happens when you do that. There is a fix somewhere on the boards here but the easiest way is to do a Hard reset and re-install all your apps manually.

Umm, I'm not sure that reply was meant for you.

It takes a while because I believe WMP searches everywhere for new skins. And it not showing up.. do you have a VGA device? QVGA skins won't load on a VGA device. You'll have to search for VGA skins.

I don't think a hard reset is required for this. Let me find the link for the other reply about this, and try that.

There's a link there to a VGA skin to try.

I have an x30mid... so the VGA won't work... I think. Here is where I downloaded the one today.

There are a couple that came on the Axim when I got it, but it wouldn't load those either. I just sits and says it's searching... Thanks!

Now that I think about it... redoing the old ROM over the top would seem like it could mess it up... I'll get it a shot tonight and see what happen... Thanks!
