Anyone who knows Fairuse Wizard talk to me.
I was using fairuse wizard LE for the first time today and when it gets to the conversion stage after about 10 seconds it tells me that it could not load the codec settings, SO WHAT THE HECK DOES THAT MEAN? any help in this matter is much appreciated!!!!

PS. That was my first disk-rip, but i would like to throw in that PocketdivixEncoder works like a charm when coupled with Betaplayer.

Never gotten that warning. Try downloading a new copy of the program and resinstalling it.

I have used PocketDivxEncoder for quite a while. The appeal of FairUse is it doesn't require a seperate program for ripping the DVD.

You need to download the Xvid and DivX codecs.

What OS does your PC use, and how much memory do you have avaiable on your PC?

FU wants at least 10GB free on your PC to be happy.

Choirguy's post will definitely help if you have an older PC OS.

I don't think storage and memory are my problems, I have a brand new top of the line toshiba business class notebook. I have an 80 gig hard drive. I will test out the codec packet and let you guys know. I downloaded the thing right off the main website, kind of odd not to have the codec with it.

OOPS another question, do I have to place that codec package anywhere in particular for the program to see it?

I had the same problem and same questions. I'll be watching this thread for solutions. I just assumed it had to do with the copy protection of the DVD I was copying. I own the DVD and was just copying it to watch more conveniently and more importantly to see Betaplayer's capabilities.

FFDshow makes explorer crash, any suggestions?
On a side note, once installed it did allow me to play some stuff I had origionally canned due to thinking it was unplayable. So I got one issue solved that brought in a whole slew of new issues.

I don't know anything about FFD Show, but I would look at K-Lite codecs.

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...Codec_Pack.htm

Same website, different collection.
