Hi there,
I just bought myself a 1 GB SD card for my AXIM, and I would like to use my AXIM for listening to MP3's and mini movie player. What kind of setting should I use to setup my AXIM to be used as an MPEG player? Is Windows media player good enough for playing movies? For getting the MPEG'S onto the AXIM, is there any application out there that can "shrink" the movie files to prepare them for use on the AXIM? I shrink my DVD's onto an ISO file, which is uaually around 4 GB on my hard drive, now if I could get ann application that could cut that file down to about 100 megs or so, that would be great, because I could still store MP3's on the SD card as well as a movie or 2... am I just dreaming? Thanks. ![]()

You can use WMP, but it will only play videos in WMV format.
I recomend using FairUse Wizard to encode the movies to an avi in divx. Then use either Beta Player or PocketMVP. I have my movies at around 230MB with the audio at 120KB and they look/sound great on the Axim.

you can use pocketdivx encoder to convert your movies to the avi format i believe. the file size for a normal movie at good quality for me is about 200mb. to play the file i recomend betaplay. you can find these programs by doing a simple google search.

Do you guys think that a 4.5 GB DVD movie file will be able to get shrunk down to around 100 Megs and still be alright looking? Or, should I look around for a DiVX file that's around 500 megs and then convert that file instead?

You can take the whole DVD and convert it down to any size you want with FairUse Wizard. 100MB might be a little small. But you can try it and see how it looks. When FairUse encodes a movie it saves the ripped files. So if you don't like the look of the movie at 100MB you can have it encode again (without waiting for the rip process) at a higher size setting.
When you are using it make sure you don't set it to do the process automatically and that you choose the size of 320 X 176 pixels for your screen size.

Alright, I've downloaded FU, and it is a bit complex... if anyone could walk me thorugh (for example, how to set the frame size??? etc..) on how to encode a DVD to my AXIM, that would be very helpful. Thanks!
