Does anyone know of a free program that can convert MP3 files to WMA files? I just bought a 256MB card for my Axim and although it is huge, I project that it will soon be full. As WMA files are considerably smaller, the obvious choice would be to convert all these large MP3's into WMA's to conserve space and allow for more music on the Axim. Any suggestions are welcome!:)

Download Windows Media Bonus Pack for Windows XP, that includes Plus! MP3 Audio Converter LE, that will convert your MP3 to WMA.

Enjoy! :D

You can also use the compression feature in WMP when transferring you WMA files to your Axim. The files are considerably smaller (some songs under 1 MEG) without sacrificing the sound quality all that much.

I have WMP Version 7.0. Is the bonus pack compatible? I don't see it on the site you referred me to. Are there any programs out there that allow you to convert MP3 to WMA? I also don't see the compression feature in my WMP. Will i need to upgrade to WMP 9.0?

Go to the link previously posted, and select "Windows Media Encoder". That's what you need to convert MP3s to WMAs.

Go to the previously posted link and in Select download select Windows Media Player Bonus Pack, then you can select Windows Media Player Bonus Pack for Player 7.1 - Full Install, but my advice is update to Media Player 9 and the download the Bonus Pack for version 9.

Enjoy!

If WMP can run through a playlist, it should be do-able. At least it sounds like it should be ... for some macro-wright out there.
