Trouble viewing mpg file Using pocket MVP

I have a 230 mb mpg file that I am trying to watch using Pocket MVP but as all it shows me is the first frame or 2 then it stops (kida locks up) I can view the video using my laptop from the sd card so I dont know what the issue is. Is there a size problem with pocket mvp?

You might get better play from Pocket TV.

Pocket MVP is fairly finicky on the file structure and encoding settings. You can check the file attributes with the "media info" option from the menu, after loading the file. Also, the included help file with PMVP is great for details.

(snipped from the help file)

A few thoughts on video encoding:

- Encoding video in landscape mode saves CPU cycles, other than have PocketMVP do it.
- Decimating the video by two (2) is recommended (but not required, try experimenting).
- Until XviD, VP3, Theora are mature enough we recommend encoding with DivX.

GENERAL SETTINGS:
Audio: 32kbit, 44.1 khz, Stereo, MP3
Video: 320x240, 250-400 bitrate, decimate video by 2, 2-pass DivX 5.02, NO pro features, NO psychovisuals

hth,
Jeff

I have never been able to use PocketMVP correctly as well...even the new version that is out is "buggy" with me. I use Pocket TV to play Mpegs without any problems.

I have given up on PocketMVP...although if I need to view Divx encoded material, I guess PocketMVP would work.
