I have tried this a few times now, and I never get any sound with the video :iconbangh
I wonder what the problem is?

This will sound stupid, but check your PC speakers. I once encoded seven samurai, (a job of 5 hours no less) only to think that i had messed up the audio. I then (after clearing the recycler) discovered that my speaker plug had fallen out the back of my PC. Grrrr.

Does anyone know how to solve this? I don't know how to leave the optional angles out with DVD Decrypter (if it's even possible).
All other movies are coded ok :)! Doing my whole DVD collection now for the summer vacation!
|
Hmmm I'm sorry, but I've never encountered any mutli-ang dvds while encoding. I'll look in DVD Decrypter for a way to choose a single angle and let you know, but for now I'm just not sure.

One question, though (if this has been answered elsewhere in this thread, I apologize...). In order to get the forced subtitles in Kill Bill 1 for example, do I select 'English / Normal' under subtitles, then check 'Display Only Forced' in Advanced Options? Thanks!
|
You nailed it my man. Without selecting the display only forced box then you get full subtitles, which could be handy i suppose, but not what we're looking for.

Ahh! What have you done? As soon as i went to play a video on my computer to try and troubleshoot your problem the audio stopped working for me as well! When i figure out my problem ill let you know how to fix it!
BTW guys I just started work and so it is going to be longer time frames in between responses, cause I'm 17 and need another truck ( May my last one rest in pieces ) *sniff*

I finally gave up on AutoGk and switched to DVDx and the sound works fine. I have no idea what I was doing wrong with AutoGK

I believe you can also use PocketDivX Encoder, which is an equally good program, simple interface, lots of values that can be changed too.

Hey guys!
I am in need of some help. I am continually running into hosting problems with the pictures for this tutorial. I cap out my bandwidth every month with about 10 days left in the month. So Photobucket cuts me off. If some one has a speedy server and wouldn't mind donating a bit of bandwidth and a tiny bit of space (maybe 2 megs) I think 2 GB per month would do fine. I don't need the space for my personal use, just for these pictures and the benifit of Axim users. (So can you write it off as a donation? ) Anyway, thanks for the help guys.

The link for DVD decrypter seems to be dead...
Is there some other way I can get it or is there another program that will do the job?
Thanks!

This is a F****** sad day....
Hey DudeZXT,
Upon investigating your post, I have found that DVD Decrypter has been forced to shut down its operation completly or face lawsuits for building upon an existing GUI. The complete article is found here. http://www.cdfreaks.com/news/11914
For those who have used this tutorial and still make use of it, make sure to hang onto your copies of DVD Decrypter, because they could become a rarity.
I am sad to see this tutorial I made go belly up and even sadder to see DVD Decrypter have to shut down.
Thanks to everyone who helped to figure out the small fixes and workarounds of the tutorial.
Sorry to those of you who missed out on DL'ing DVD Decrypter before it closed up, you missed out. You may still be able to find a mirror site, however I think at this point most of them are gone, otherwise they too could face lawsuits.
Thanks for helping make this tutorial great everyone!
-Brad B.
EDIT: I have found a site that is still hosting the latest DVD Decrypter release (As of 1:30 PST 6/13/05 that is) I recommend getting it ASAP if you do not already have it. This is a direct link to the download of the program.
http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Rippers/...er_3.5.4.0.exe
Thanks.

Okay, I have an issue. When I did the conversion with autogk, it says that it is saving it as an avi file, but when I goto the directory that I saved in, I have a file with an extention with .d2v. What is that???? How do I get it do be an avi file??? Any help would be great... :)

Now that DVD Decrypter is "officially illegal" will this tutorial be removed? I sure hope not.

Shhhhhh......
While technically only UK_Lighting's use of the GUI code is illegal, not the use of DVD Decrypter itself, I vote no.

Quick question. I used to code my videos with Virtual Dub and one of the steps was to rotate the file 90 degrees. I didn't notice anything like that in the tutorial. Is there a way to rotate the output?
Thanks.

Good Question. Betaplayer our PPC Media player will actually rotate it for us, which is nice because in portrait mode the image is also aligned in portrait mode, but when switched to Fullscreen, the video automatically rotates 90degrees to fill the entire screen.
