Every time I try this, VirtualDub gives an error at some point between the 1st and 2nd pass, saying that the file it wants to work on is in use by another process. Thus, it won't encode the movie, it'll just sit there happily doing nothing overnight ... any way to fix it?
I'm having the same problem. Did the reinstallation work for you?
with the new 2.20 version of auto gordian knot, when i hit ctrl f9, i see no option to force my widescreen movies into 4:3 format...where is it at??
With the AG box open, hit CTRL and F9 at the same time, the box will open up. The controls for forcing into 4:3 format are on the bottom, left of the newly-opened box. I just used this tonight and it works just fine.
I'm having a similar problem getting the english subtitles on Kill Bill vol. I and II. If I select english subtitles in AGK I get the subtitles throughout the entire movie. I just want the subtitles as they appear in the main moive: during the Japanese language portions. Has anyone ever found out how this can be done?

I don't mind change as long as I'm not around when it happens.

For those of you having difficulty identifying which files contain what (e.g., subtitles), I suggest that you download and install one of the various freewares out there that can "show" you what the files are. There are dozens, and AfterDawn.com is a great resource. I personally just use DVD Shrink to help me out when needed since I already have it for DVD authoring and it allows me to pare down to what I want before turning to AGK for conversion.
Please help me get audio working with TCPMP! I followed all the directions offered by you and by Treonaughts including installing the Mpeg4 plugin and have wonderful video but no audio. I tried installing the tcpmp_aac_plugin and it still won't work. I tried downgrading from .71 to .66 and no luck. I've searched the internet for hours for a solution to no avail. I need a simple click by click tutorial similar to how you so adeptly led me through converting the video. I have posted on the Core Codec forum too and no one has even looked. Please help, this is so frustrating it has driven me to tears.
Bradish, all is still working well. Even with the updated AGK and DVD-D, in my X50v. Thank You! It really impresses folks, and it's entertaining for the kids.
The problem now, is here. Since I don't do this much, I come back to reference your original post/instructions, and there's icons where the images were, stating that the bandwidth is exceeded!
After I finished my last one (Star Wars EP III), I hadn't done any more to date. The images in the instructions are just too necessary for my feeble attempts to follow your instructions without them! Even though I've done 14 movies with it so far..

Is there an alternative? a PDF? Or a fix?
Thank you Thank you...
Anyway, I have no reliable source of bandwidth, with 2.5GB worth being gone days after the beginning of the month. My last attempt to generate revenue to provide real hosting was looked poorly upon, so i guess ill try to spread the pics over multiple accounts... Look for them in a day or two ;)
I just tried converted my Star Wars Revenge of the Sith and the it plays the entering theme way too early and then that's it no more sound. So it plays the sound for the music way too early even before "star wars" logo comes out and then when it's done playing way out of sync there is no more sound after that. So what did I do wrong? I already converted my star wars return of the jedi easilly but this doesn't seem to be working?
Only difference that I did was instead of converting it to it'normal widescreen format I made at 4:3 for the bigger picture. So what I am doing wrong or does this particular movie have some protection?
A couple of minor points. Please make sure that the advice to download the TCPMP plug-in for AC-3 format audio. The first couple of DVDs I encoded had AC-3 audio and would not play on the standard TCPMP download. I spent ages trying and retrying to re-encode, until I serched the Aximsite forum to find I needed to download the AC-3 dodec interpreter.
Also the DivXEncoder does not quite work as described.
