WMP License Problems
Had an interesting problem recently. I downloaded some licensed wma's, loaded the licenses and ran them fine on WMP9 desktop. I didn't expect these to work on my Axim (with Pocket WMP9), but I was able to download them to my X3i through a cradle using the desktop WMP9, and they played just fine. I then tried to download (using WMP9) directly to my SD card to a different directory. This is how I typically load music since it doesn't require a cradle. This time they wouldn't play. No real surprise. So I deleted the "bad" versions. But then the "good" copies wouldn't play either. I deleted the "good" copies, downloaded them again through the cradle, and they still won't play. Any ideas?
Thanks. | |||||

An update. There is a file on the storage card named DRMv1PM.lic. I would guess it contains the licensing info. I erased the whole card and loaded some more protected files (through the cradle), and they started working again. I tried deleting the media files and the license file, then loading them through the card reader. The license file was re-created, but the media files wouldn't play. I saved the original license file and copied it back to the card through the card reader, and the files would play again. So, in order to get a valid license file, you must connect directly to the Axim.
