BetaPlayer has played everything I tried so far. Except windows media files. Give it a try!

I found that when I try to play the vidoe files that my digital camera records with beta player it gives me a codec error message saying that the mpeg codec is missing. And windows media doesnt even get that far. So I think there must be some codecs that arent already installed

I have had no problems playing movies yet, and don't even know how to install codecs for betaplayer if I had to. I do, however, know how to find the codec you need to play a movie file.

Use GSPOT

Because it is form your camcorder that may cause some problems. I would say try and convert it to something else and see if that works. Lots of different programs around. Good Luck~

When you bring video in, if it uses a MPEG2 codec of any kind, it will be a problem. In the future BetaPlayer will be able to play all MPEG2 files, for now only MPEG1 is supported. The best solution? Get your videos converted into divx or xvid avi's. (These are MPEG4) You will have little to no problems, and the quality of video will be good and the file size low.

I haven't had to download any codecs yet - what doesn't play in WMP10 usually plays on BetapPlayer. I discovered to my delight that MJPEG is supported - making it an ideal way to view movies taken with my digital camera The color contrast on the X50v is superior to my Dell Inspiron notebook, which looks washed out in comparison!
