Do i need some software on my low end dell computer? if so what do i need, i know it has a cd burner, but not much else. i have a 512 sd card and reader. i have started to read the threads from previous users but i dont see anything on how to get the movie onto the sd card. i have downloaded betaplayer as well.

What kind of movies do you want to put on there? If you want to convert a DVD straight to a movie file that can be played on your PDA, get this program called FairUse here: http://www.fairusewizard.com/lang_en/index.html

That will convert a DVD to a file, which you copy onto your card. Do this by plugging in the card reader, opening "My Computer", and looking for the new drive that shows up. That will be your SD card, so copy the file created onto that.

Also, if you already have a movie file on your computer, you can just convert it using PocketDivxEncoder, found about half-way down here: http://www.aximsite.com/articles/link.php?id=215

You would at a minimum need a DVD player on your PC to convert a movie down to a watchable file on your Axim. If you already have the movie files on your harddrive or on a CD, then you can place the files on your HD and work w/ a numerous amount of tools to compress for your Axim.

Once the file is compressed (check other posts on specific software), you would want a card reader to transfer the file to the SD or CF card.

If you want more specific info, just respond.

if its a file on your computer you want to recompress for axim playback, i prefer windows movie maker simply because you can use WMplayer. which means it DOESNT take extra memory.

thats my 2 cents
