Using X50 as an Mp3 player

Is there a way I can get songs that I download on to the Axim because I have noticed that certain songs say that I cant put on my Axim... and some I can...

You can just drop them onto your Axim in explorer and play them. Where are you having problems?

Songs with Digital Right Management (DRM) have to be transfered over with Windows Media Player on your PC to your PPC. Otherwise they should play.

Has anyone found a way of randomising MP3s from either a playlist or directory folder/s ? I really need this function since I have a 1g card full of MP3s and would like to use my X50v as an IPOD replacement. I have tried Betaplayer and WMP but neither have this functionality.

GS Player will play in "shuffle" mode. And it is free :)

I use pocketmusic and it doesn't support real media songs. Can you not convert them?

Pocket music supports MP3, OGG, WMA.

RealOne player for PPC should do it. But do you actually have a complete file (via Rhapsody)? Or are you talking about .rm files? These are designed for streaming and it's likely they won't work unless going through Real Server.

I downloaded an album from the iTunes store to my laptop and then dropped them into my x30. I can't get them to play. Windows media can't play them for some reason. They are mp4 files. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately all iTunes music files are AAC format - which is Apple's own DRM solution. This means they'll only play on the machine registered to that iTunes library (so your PC) or on the iPod that's registered on the same computer.

It's a real pain - and the main reason why I don't use iTunes (even though I have an iPod and a Mini, I like to be able to choose which of my devices I want to listen to music I've paid for on).

There are ways around the DRM - you'll need to google for them as it would be inapropriate for me to discuss them on this forum. Good luck.

Mark.

If they are plain MPEG4 audio then BetaPlayer will do fine. If they are protected (M4P files) then use hymn to remove the DRM restrictions first or use the iTunes -> CD -> MP3/WMA trick.
