x50v, WMP and Playlists

I am a new Axim user. I have played individual mp3 files with the built in Windows MEdia Player on my x50v. When I select a m3u playlist and try to run it, I get a message that says there is no file association to run this file. Will WMP play m3u playlists? If not, what playlist format will it play? If it will, how do I get it to do so, or how to I set up a file association?

Thanks

Steven

Isn't an m3u file created by Winamp? WMP will play lists that were created in WMP.
