Streaming radio on axim

Hey, just wondering if anyone knows how to get streaming radio on the Axim. Tried it a little while ago and it doesn't seem to work. What I'd eventually like to be able to do is plug a BT dongle into my pc at work and be able to walk around the office listening wirelessly to the streaming radio

There should be a couple of threads around to get you started. The tricky parts going to be getting the dongle setup. I don't have a clue on that. BRB

OK...

1.)Download the Windows media encoder:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

2.)Get hold of a radio with a line out/headphone jack. I use a walkman radio with rechargeable batteries

3.)Get hold of a dual male headphone jack cable (~$5 at target, it has a male jack on each end to connect with)

4.)Connect the Radio into the line in on your Computer

5.)Go to sounds and audio properties
-Go to options->properties->recording-> check all boxes->Check the line in box, and put volume on fulll.

6.)Install the media encoder.

7.)Turn on radio, open media encoder.

8.)Select custom session

9.)
-Un-select video box
-in audio select your sound card
-hit configure->pin line-> line in

10.) Compression tab
-Destination -> pocket PC
-Apply, ok

11.)Start encoding button

12.)Connections tab on bottom
->Coppy down bottom LAN address.

13.)Connect to network via bluetooth (I assume you know how to do this)
(If not, post a reply)

14.) Open windows media player on Pocket PC
-Menu->Open url->Type in LAN address....

Thats it, it should work now.

To secure the broadcast, tell us what System you have running. IF its XP its relatively easy. if not i really couldn help you...

I have found a few sites that cater to streaming radio. Streaming video movie promos. Other mpeg movies. The MS site has a few streaming radio choices

Check these out via your Axim:

Download and install either gsplayer or betaplayer. Then go to www.shoutcast.com. Find a station you like, click "listen", and save the playlist. You should be listening to the streaming station now.
