is it just me? or is WMP 10 completely worthless

Let me start off by saying.. i am an avid Betaplayer user.

that said. I was just considering, tonight, how worthless WMP10 really is... even more so than WMP9 was.

Let me explain.

I generally use 2 types of media. video, for tv shows and movies and mp3 for pre recorded radio programs

if i am in the middle of a movie. i can pause Betaplayer and close it. even if i soft reset, when i start betaplayer, it remembers my spot in the movie...

The problem: If, however, i want to listen to any music before playing the movie again, using beta player to play the music loses my spot in the movie. a minor inconvienence. but an inconvienence non the less.

So i thought i'd use WMP10 to listen to Howard Stern, so i wouldn't lose my place in the movie cued up in Beta player

This is when i realized how tough it is to use WMP10. I don't want to add this mp3 to any play list. I don't want to import it to a library. I want to play it. and delete it. a pain to do using WMP10 Since it isn't in my library WMP10 doesn't see it. there is no simple browse, and since my files are associated with betaplayer, of course, i can't just double click on it from explorer.

One more gripe. Once i finally do get it started. i can't pause it and close WMP as you can betaplayer. Well you CAN close it, but it doesn't remember the spot you left off like Betaplayer.

Damn microsoft, you really missed the boat with that crap ware. [/end rant]

So short of installing 2 copies of Betaplayer, does anyone have any ideas, on how to have 2 different media cued to the spot you left off. the H.S. show is 3 hours, so i leave it in cue a lot too.

Mike

You download the whole show right? Just pause WMP10 and return to Today. As long as you don't soft reset it should return to that spot, shouldn't it?

That could work. But i just tap X which closes it. I have pocket plus running.
When i open it it was started over. The biggest problem is getting the show started to begin with. I don't want to add the show to the library every day!

You can tell PocketPlus to make an exception for WMP10. open WMP10. Hold your stylus on the X, choose optioms, highlight the Close Button, Choose Feature Options, click on the Exceptions tab then Add then add last used program.

Mike

your right it is worthless(just about) and i never use it unless it is to watch streamed media for pocket PC or movies. For MP3s betaplayer is the way to go if you ask me. I would just remember the time on your movies where you stopped.
