large files seem to start and stop over and over again. Can get frustrating. When I had misplaced my reader I had better luck transferring files via wifi thru file explorer.
Interesting.. fill me in on how you did that. I'm very new toi this stuff.
Put the movie into a shared folder on your PC. Fire up your Wifi on the ax, then use File Explorer or Total Commander to browse to that location on the network ("\\computername\sharedfoldername\filename") and select copy. Navigate to your storage card on the Ax and paste it. Takes a couple minutes, but it gets there.
I tried using Fair Use last night for the first time. I got to the point of processing the file. When I selected all of the options and told it to proceed, it gave me an error stating that there was a problem with the codec files. What am I doing wrong?
If try installing the divx codec on your pc. You can get it at www.wmplugins.com , Do you know the exact wording of the error message?

My guess is that you selected "any" options other than just the file size.
If you read the thread I linked above you will find that it works quite well letting it do its thing. Try resetting to defaults (theres a button for this) and try again. I set my file size to 350MB though I plan on trying one larger to see what it looks like as far as filling the screen more.
And a special thanks to Budven for setting me up with a link that works for me to Betaplayer and even going to the effort to send me a file :approve:
I have to say that Betaplayer rocks, I was using MVP which was choppy, pixely and locked up all the time using the same copy of video as I tried on betaplayer.
Well I've changed resolution and audio rates without any problems. You do not have to let fairuse do everything automatically for it to work.

Right you dont have to let FU do everything but when having troubles and to get in the swing of things its a good idea to just KISS the whole thing...ya know keep it simple :)
I used Xvid for my encoding. What I found that worked for me was when you get to the last screen, click on the "First Pass" button at the top of the window. This opened up the encoder for some options that I never touched, but it seemed to make a link of some sort. When I eventually started the conversion the Xvid encoder window opened up again and things were rolling. I haven't had to hit First Pass since.

Ok, This is how i do it
1) Put DVD in pc
2) Use Fairuse to convert DVD to video file(s)
3) Use Card Reader to copy Video files to SD card
4) Use Betaplayer on Axim to view video file on SD card
hope that helps
If it's not from a DVD but it's a downloaded movie, do I just follow your steps or do I have to do some conversion before following your steps since it's not on a DVD.
Also does this process require a DVD drive or DVD-RW drive? Thanks!
That would probably depend on what format the movie is in.
I'm sure there is some software knocing about that you could use to optimse the movie (Hint Try using the search tool in axim site to find it :) )
Alteratively you could try copying the video file to your flash card and see if Betaplayer plays it

If it's an ISO Image you can use faireuse sax30. If it's already an .avi file you need to look for a different solution.
