I just use MMJB to rip to MP3. I have never used any of the Windows Media Players to rip to .wma. I think you could change WMA to MP3 by using Windows Media Encoder but I've only used it for movies myself. My link is to an older version which I know has worked for me in the past. Just change the version info if you want the latest version.

Bobby,

I may not have explained what's going on correctly. I mean the MM sync tools don't support my Axim. I can copy all the music I want to the device. It's just that MM throws all sorts of errors if I try to use their sync utility. does it work on yours?

I've never tried it. I've always used a card reader for that task. I'll check a little later for you brad. I'm using a full version also.

The sync worked for me but it's painfully slow. Remember now all I have are MP3 files that I ripped myself with MMJB.

Thanks for trying. WMP 10 does it automatically when you dock your PPC and since mine remains docked for a goodly long time, the 10-15 minutes to sync doesn't matter really how long it takes.

Followup. I plugged in my card reader and MMJB will recognize that as a "device" and copy playlists and music to it. Copy speed is much much faster than WMP syncing. I like syncing random tunes so this might be the answer.

BTW, what bitrate/encoding do you use?

How do you create multiple playlists in WMP on your axim? or do you have to create them on your PC and then copy them over?

do what i do...

first of all, I use an USB adapter to sync music to my SD card. it is tons faster, and that is even with a USB1.1 connection.

WMP(PC) syncs music files to the card. then, while card still connected to PC, i use file explorer to move files into folders. you can create a folder for each album. then move your card to your Axim. open WMP(mobile) and create a playlist for each folder/album. when you create a new playlist, the interface gives you a checklist of available music on the card or internal memory. it is separated by folders, so if you have "Let It Bleed" in one folder, you just check that folder and you have a one-album playlist. Or if "Born Under a Bad Sign" or "Kind of Blue" are more your mood, then you can do the same. as you replace music on the card, delete the old playlists.

(Rolling Stones 1969, Albert King 1967, and Miles Davis 1959 respectively. Sorry, I've never heard of Todd Agnew, but if that is what makes you happy then more power to you.) :)

That's the idea. I figured out hw to make one on the PPC but there was no way to save it for later use.

There is a freeware program I haven't tried yet. I'll get you the link in a minute. Check the second post in this thread.

Do you plan on adding WMA Support?

After selecting the artist, you can choose between "<Current folder>", which offers options to play all files in the subfolders or just those directly in the folder (if there exist any), and all albums. Or you use the "list skip" buttons, which work similar to the folder skip buttons on most MP3 compatible CD players.

(In this example it's a ....\(genre)\(artist) folder structure)

Well, better test it yourself... And don't miss the alternative skins.
Hi,
You Mort Player looks great, The problem is that I am looking for A Player with Sleep & Wake Up timers(MortPayer) but can also play WMA(WMP 10 Mobile). My Collection is 50/50 MP3 and WMA.
I tried Pay for Play Pocket Music 3.2, but its sleep timer doesn't work and WMP has neither sleep or Wake.
Thanks keep up the good work

That's what I've been looking for Bobby - a program that allows me to create playlists on my Ax. Thanks for posting the link. Anyone know of any other programs that allow this?
