How did you download it? Did you have the Nero 6 Ultra program?

Let us know what you think, especially using AAC (.m4a) files.

I've been coding with nero to playback in betaplayer for a few months now. MP4 files have wonderful sound and color reproduction. I wonder what this new mobile version is? Let me check it out.

Nero Showtime Mobile

It is now avilable for download. Anyone else tried it? Installation was difficult. I think it needs a soft reset straight after installation.
Sound is good but can not get a picture as yet (using Axim X5). Still it is a beta so can't expect perfection.
Interesting to see how it will compre with Betaplayer (brilliant piece of software) and whether ability to play AVC will give it an edge.

I'm merging this with the other Nero Showtime Mobile thread.

My Quick Review...

Wow, when I read this I thought... finally AVC playback on PPC!

I'll start by saying the UI is beautiful with screens for audio EQ, VU meter, playlists, playback controls, config, and full screen with control overlays. The config screen says "Nero ShowTime Mobile Teaser Release - 1.0.0.2" and is pretty basic ("scale video" and "scale video proportional" are the only options).

I first tested 128kbps AAC files ripped from CDs in iTunes. Playback sounds great - very smooth. The EQ and VU screens during playback are a nice touch with 7 built-in EQ settings (rock, disco, jazz, pop, etc) and a custom setting. Unfortunately there's no way to save custom EQ settings. Playlists can be created but there appears to be no way to browse or add media on network shares. Playback pauses when the player is minimized.

Next I tested ASP and AVC movies encoded with Recode2 (500MB size encoded at 400kbps video VBR, 96kbps 48kHz stereo audio). Movies encoded using the high definition ASP profile played back sluggish. There appears to be no Intel 2700G chipset support. The same movies play great in Betaplayer. AVC encoded movies play extrememly sluggish and video does not appear. The audio sounds good though.

And that's my quick review. Let's hear more reviews folks! This app can only get better.
