New BetaPlayer finally available

Looks like Picard is back among us! There is a new BetaPlayer 0.5b available for download (http://picard.exceed.hu/betaplayer/test/)!

Mobileread.com has list of changes that could be already or still will be implemented for BetaPlayer 0.51:

Has anyone tried this, yet? Any quirks or bugs that may make someone else want to hold off?

I installed it on my X50v, but haven't seen any difference yet. I think I will try a Nero MPEG4 encoded movie soon, has anyone tried that before?

I think this is the betaplayer's stable release so its different from the unstable ones.. I assuem the .96 will be faster and have more improvements but will likely be less stable.. so stick with the .96

awdark, .96 is actually superseded by .5 stable, and 0.5b is the latest.

don't know what else this rev fixed, I know from picard that the most prominent feature is that if you have the HP BT headphones; you can now use all the button (foward, back, pause, volume +/-) now with betaplayer.

Mobileread also mentions screen aspect ratio options which seems cool. Not sure if it is already available in 0.5b.

tadw-

I'm not saying your wrong (as you probably know more about this than me), but the betaplayer page seems to suggest that the unstables are newer than the stables. Am I not reading this right?

http://betaplayer.corecodec.org/download.html

"Which release do you need?
There are two types of releases. The stable version is released after the new features are tested and ready for general public use. The unstable version is more up to date and released frequently. It's called 'unstable' because the new modifications might contain bugs, needs testing. It contains the latest features and bug fixes."
