Hmm Trying to tinker with Multimedia formats and programs with no luck

Ok guys, I have my X50 Mid for about 2 weeks now, and one of the first main reasons I bought it (and OF COURSE not the only one) was to have a media player in my hand that will be able to support large storage area (not an Ipod, but I still have 3 GB).
Since I have something like 4.5 GB of music on my comp, I tried to tinker with all sort of formats. When I usually do that I really make my ear listen to all of those subnormal sounds because though I'm not an audiphile, I still need my music to sound as acceptable as possible.

At the beginning, since I love the simplicity of WMP 10 and it's ability to show album art (major thing for me) I tried to tinker with 128 kbps wma 9.1 pro. It has surprising quality in comparison to older versions, but it just don't do that well at the end, mainly where there are pianos (and my most beloved singer is Tori Amos, so this is a bit problematic).

Next I went to tinker with Ogg Vorbis since I really like the format and the fact that it was designed for low bit rates. I tried some 140 kbps or so files with 3 different programs - Betaplayer, Pocketmusic and Pocket Player. On the first two there was always a bizarre screeching sound on some basses (try to convert Tori Amos' "Martha's Foolish Ginger" and you'll get the idea), but aside from that it sounded great. On Pocketplayer, though, it just sounded perfect! I was so amazed.

The problem is I'm not going to use Pocket Player since I don't like the way it works with playlists - I need a program that in that manner is Like WMP - in a few taps I can decide to play this artist or that album, doesn't matter where they are. I can almost do that with Pocketmusic but thats it.

What can I do? Can you suggest another format which is good enough, because I don't want to pass the 140 kbps limit and I also want it to sound tolerable. If there just was an option to use the Ogg codec from Pocket player in other things it would have been great.
Perhaps do you know another player which is good enough? Money is not an issue here.

Thanks!
