Big Smile For those who need to convert RM file to other format

, I just found a software on the internet which can convert files among several formats. Here is the link:
http://www.winavi.com/download.htm

I am going to try it tonight when I get home.
Hope that solves the RM issue.

As I said, I have not tried it yet. But it seems that it does. Why not just give it a shot and let us know? :) :approve:

I've tried winavi, and it is a good program. It is also very fast at encoding media files. However, one problem I found was when I try to re-encode a large file (1 hour+ movie), I get syncing problems. The audio and video don't match about 55 mins into the movie.

Ok,

This is one area I have done some research on. If you are looking for a good simple program that converts RM,RA, or RAM to other popular formats like MP3 or WMA, this is the best out there:

http://www.q6of.com/cd/StreamboxRipper2009.zip

The limitations are: (1) it is only for audio file conversion, not video (2) It can only convert one file at a time although on the good side, I think the speed is excellent.

If you want a program that converts rmvb, then you can check out this one:

http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=Real7ime_Converter

It can also convert audio files but not as fast as streambox ripper. Did I say that both those programs are free! :approve:

NOTE: do not look for the a newer version of streambox ripper as they took out the ability to convert RM files in the new releases.

Let me know how you like it

I've had sync problems with WinAVi as well. Also it's a bit naff converting AVIs with surround sound audio tracks, the background noise drowns out the foreground noise.
