one thing i am thinking of doing on my x50v is to watch divx movies with the betaplayer. however after some searches i realized that the 2700g plugin to boost betaplayer is no longer available from picard's site, due to some lisence issues.
so, i am begging for someone to kindly email me the plugin install file to: heangx at bellsouth dot net. And thanks a million for your help! :approve:
Both the unstable 0.096 and the newer more current version stable 0.5 have the plug in built in. So you don't have to do anything. :) That was close!

Can someone please explain what's the difference between "Intel 2700G" and "intel 2700G Decoder" (it's in the Video options)?
I don't see any difference between them when playing the demo-file(s) on the Betaplayer website.
It is included with the latest releases. You should use "0.5 Stable".
I believe Picard said you should use "Intel 2700G Decoder" but I don't remember the specific difference between the two. Picard might see this thread and tell us :)
Cheers

I just download recently ver unstable 0.096 and it has the 2700g driver built in. You should be able to just download and install this one.
Actually the 0.5 stable version was released after the 0.096
There is no reason to get the 0.096, download the latest one! :approve:

I got this files somewhere: betaplayer.setup.STABLE.0.5 and mpc.setup.STABLE.0.5 are one of them the betaplayer? How will I install on my X50v. I'm very much a newbie in this technology, is somebody kind enough to give me direction? thanks a lot in advance.
The first is the player and the second is a plug-in.
The newest version I've seen is 0.5b UNSTABLE. There are 2 plug-ins with this one, mpc and aac. The plug-ins are really small memory-wise and I recommend installing both. A quick site search should find you some links and opinions.
To install the .exe files, cradle yourr device. Double-click the .exe on your PC and let Activesync do the rest. When the option comes up say No to default location install and install to Built-in Storage. Every version I've used works fine from there.
