Can't play video file with windows media player
I went to pocketmovies.net to download a movie trailer, so I could check out the screen quality on my new x50v. I downloaded an MPEG1 file to my built in memory, but could not get windows media player to play it. When I opened windows media player and tried to locate the file, the file did not show up, as if WMP did not recognize that type of file. I'm clearly going to the correct folder, but the file doesn't show up, when I use the "open" option in WMP. Does anyone know what the problem is? Thanks for the help.

It's probably a format not supported by WMP. Try downloading betaplayer.

My WMP doesnt work, but thankfully, Dell is sending me a new one (not because of that, hardware problem) but use Betaplayer or Pocket TV. I know Pocket TV can play .mpg, not sure about Betaplayer though.

Yes it plays HTTP streams just fine, you need to find the proper streaming URL though as ASP is the file extension used when a webserver sends you a dynamically generated page. If you take a look at the page source it will be in there somewhere, if you get stuck just post the URL you're trying to open and I'll show you how to get it playing.
